In August, we hosted our first-ever virtual KubeCon + CloudNativeCon, and we were thrilled that the community showed up to learn new things, share their experiences, and reconnect with each other. An amazing 61% of attendees spent more than 10 hours on the platform, proving the value of our highly curated talks and tutorials.
Turning our attention to KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2020 Virtual, we wanted to make sure that we kept iterating on our virtual events so that attendees can have the best possible experience. So we took the feedback we got and are committing to some Minimum Viable Changes (MVCs) — a concept I internalized at my previous employer, GitLab.
There will be many changes, big and small, at the next KubeCon + CloudNativeCon. However, the MVCs are definitely planned changes that will hopefully make a big impact.
Here’s our first round of MVCs that you can look forward to at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America next month:
- An easy to use schedule builder. The number one piece of feedback after the EU event was that our schedule builder left something to be desired. After some research, we are going to use Sched.com this time (no more Intrado Agenda Builder!), and each session within Sched will have a direct deep link to that specific talk in the Intrado platform. (You must be registered for the Full Access pass and logged into the platform to access this feature.)
- Everybody gets swag or the option to donate! If you’re registered for the Full Access pass, you’ll have the choice to receive a KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America Swag Box or have us donate to charity!
- We’ve adjusted the length of the event. Based on feedback and research on screen fatigue, the co-chairs adjusted the number of sessions for North America. The event will run from 1:00 PM – 6:30 PM EST with two 30-minute breaks, allowing for a more manageable schedule for balancing work and family responsibilities.
- The 101 Track is back — and even bigger! We tested a 101 Track at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe, where 72% of attendees were first-timers. Based on its success, we decided to add more sessions for North America. So if you are a newcomer to #TeamCloudNative, this is your one-stop shop to learn the fundamentals.
We can’t wait for you to experience everything we have planned for KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America. Register by October 31 for $25 off the Full Access pass!
