In partnership with the Veteranius project, the Prometheus platform will host three Ukrainian-language Linux Foundation Training courses.
In October 2022 at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America, we announced that the Linux Foundation and the CNCF partnered with Razom for Ukraine on Razom’s Project Veteranius to provide access to technology education for Ukrainian veterans, their families, and Ukrainians in need. As part of this support, Linux Foundation has made three of LF’s training courses available in Ukrainian, which are hosted by the Prometheus platform (not to be confused with CNCF’s Prometheus project).
The three courses being offered in Ukrainian are as follows:
Introduction to Linux | Основи Linux
Available starting February 20, the course is available for 14 weeks. It is designed for experienced computer users who have limited or no previous exposure to Linux, whether they are working in an individual or enterprise environment.
This course looks into the tools and techniques commonly used by Linux system administrators and end users in a Linux environment. Students will come out of this course with good working knowledge of Linux, from both a graphical and command line perspective, making it possible to navigate through any of the major Linux distributions.
The projected workload consists of about 5-7 hours a week of studying.
Git for Distributed Software Development | Git для розподіленої розробки програмного забезпечення
Available on February 23 and available for 14 weeks, this course is for beginners looking to learn what Git is and how to install it. Students who take this course will be prepared to use Git to create new repositories or clone existing ones, commit new changes, review revision histories, examine differences with older versions, work with different branches, merge repositories, and work with a distributed development team.
Students can expect to spend 1-2 hours per week in order to master the materials comprehensively.
Introduction to Kubernetes | Основи Kubernetes
This is an introductory course on Kubernetes starting in early March and will last 14 weeks.
This course is for people considering or beginning to use Kubernetes for container orchestration who need guidelines on how to start transforming their organization with Kubernetes and cloud native patterns.
Upon completion, you will have a solid understanding of the origin, architecture and building blocks for Kubernetes, and will be able to begin testing the new cloud native pattern to begin the cloud native journey.
The estimated workload is 2-3 hours per week.
