Together with Linux Foundation Training and Certification and the Continuous Delivery Foundation, we are happy to announce the GitOps Associate (CGOA) certification, designed for DevOps engineers and team members, platform and software engineers, CI/CD practitioners, and other team members who would build IDPs with GitOps built into them.
“GitOps provides a powerful approach to managing infrastructure at scale in a declarative and automated way. CNCF hosts the OpenGitOps Working Group and projects like Argo and Flux that help move the state of GitOps forward,” said Chris Aniszczyk, CTO, CNCF. “We are excited to see this professional certification set the benchmark for introducing GitOps to the industry.”
Following the completion of this exam, a CGOA will understand GitOps patterns including when and why to use them. They will also understand precautions to take around tooling for manifest format and packaging, state store systems, and reconciliation engines to adhere to and extend GitOps principles.
This certification serves to validate a certification holder’s understanding of GitOps principles, terminology, and best practices in setting up a GitOps-managed software system as well as related practices such as Configuration of Code, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps & DevSecOps, and CI & CD and how to map them to GitOps.
The CGOA’s 90-minute, online, multiple-choice exam domains include:
- 20% – GitOps Terminology
- 30% – GitOps Principles
- 16% – Related Practices
- 20% – GitOps Patterns
- 14% – Tooling
