Why an Anniversary Logo?
Kubernetes has evolved and grown over the years, becoming the cornerstone of modern container orchestration. As we approach our 10th year, it’s the perfect moment to create a visual celebration of the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of our beloved platform.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re on the lookout for an anniversary logo that captures the spirit of Kubernetes – its openness, scalability, and the powerful community that drives its success. Whether you’re an experienced designer or a budding artist, we encourage everyone to participate and showcase their unique take on Kubernetes’ journey.
Contest Details:
- Submission Deadline: Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:59PM Pacific Time
- Winner Announcement: In a blog post announcement on the CNCF.io website in June 2024
- Prize: Global recognition and a free full-access conference pass to attend an upcoming KubeCon + CloudNativeCon of your choice in 2024 or 2025
- Prize: Global recognition and a free full-access conference pass to attend an upcoming KubeCon + CloudNativeCon within 1 calendar year of the Winner Announcement.

How to Participate:
Design: Create an anniversary-style, full-color image that symbolizes the 10 years of Kubernetes’ journey. It can be a fresh interpretation of the current Kubernetes logo or an entirely new concept. While the use of generative AI is allowed, please be sure to comply with all license terms for any AI tools that you use.
Rationale: Provide a short statement, explaining why you think this logo represents Kubernetes overall and the 10th anniversary in particular.
Submit: Submit your entry by April 30, 2024. Make sure to include your name, contact information, and design description via: https://www.linuxfoundation.org/kubernetes-10-year-logo-contest
Guidelines:
- Submissions should be original and unpublished works.
- Designs must be scalable and suitable for various use cases, including online and print materials and screen printing.
- Submissions can be made in various formats including JPEG, PNG, AI, and SVG. While all formats are accepted, it’s recommended to use files with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. For optimal printing quality, SVG files are preferred whenever possible.
- Multiple entries are welcome! However, to ensure fairness and diversity, each individual is limited to a maximum of three entries.
Judging Criteria:
A panel of Kubernetes experts and design professionals will evaluate the submissions based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and visual appeal. The winning design will become the official 10th Anniversary Logo of Kubernetes.
The panel of judges will include:
- Tim Hockin, Distinguished Software Engineer at Google Cloud and designer of the original Kubernetes logo
- Chris Aniszczyk, CTO, Cloud Native Computing Foundation
- Karen Chu, Head of Community, Fermyon, Designer of Phippy character
- Ashley Willis, Director of Developer Relations, GitHub, Designer of the 5 Year Kubernetes Anniversary Logo
