As organizations continue their journey toward digital transformation, cloud native technologies are increasingly critical for achieving agility, scalability, and resilience. However, the path to cloud native maturity is not uniform across organizations. Some have embraced the model fully, reaping its benefits, while others are still navigating the complexities.

To better understand where companies stand in this journey, the Cartografos Working Group wants to hear from you to evaluate end users against the cloud native maturity model. You can complete the Google Form here. All data is anonymous!

The Purpose Behind the Survey

The Cloud Native Maturity Model serves as a framework to assess an organization’s progress in adopting cloud native practices. It identifies different levels of maturity, ranging from initial adoption to full-scale, automated operations that align with business goals. While the model provides a clear pathway for organizations, our experience tells us that the reality is often more nuanced. This quick five minute survey aims to validate the levels of maturity outlined in the model and identify where end users need additional support and information.

By understanding the current state of cloud native adoption, we can better serve the community. We want to help organizations bridge the gap between where they are and where they need to be, offering targeted resources and guidance that align with their specific needs.

What the Survey Will Measure

The annoymous survey focuses several key areas that are critical to cloud native maturity:

  1. Cloud Strategy and Alignment: Evaluating how integrated and strategic the cloud-native approach is within your organization and its alignment with overall IT strategy.
  2. Business Impact and Success Metrics: Assessing the criticality of business drivers like cost savings, agility, and innovation, and how effectively success is measured for cloud-native projects.
  3. Skills, Resources, and Change Management: Understanding the organization’s cloud-native skills, resource availability, and the effectiveness of training, change management, and support structures.
  4. Technology and Process Maturity: Measuring the maturity and effectiveness of CI/CD pipelines, security practices, observability, and the impact of cloud-native technologies on development and deployment processes.
  5. Governance and Culture: Reviewing governance, compliance management, and how cloud-native adoption has influenced organizational culture and collaboration between teams.

Why Your Participation Matters

The insights gained from this annoyoumous survey will be invaluable in shaping the future of the Cloud Native Maturity Model. By participating, you’ll contribute to a better understanding of where the community stands and help identify the areas that require more attention and resources. In return, you’ll be able to read about where the industry is in cloud native maturity and review recommendations in the updated maturity model on how to advance further.

What’s Next?

Once the survey is complete, we will analyze the data, publish the results and update the Cloud Native Maturity Model accordingly.
